Are You Buying The New Iphone 6s / 7?

Based on what I watched this morning... updating from a 6 to 6s... not sure its worth the money just for the force touch and picture improvements, yet saying that, if your phone is used heavily for pictures and video, the updates are worth the upgrade for those two things alone...

4k video on an iPhone now. WOW... just WOW. That is cinema quality video from a handheld device that fits in your pocket. The camera upgrades are impressive.

Talking about learning how to utilise your I/Phone, I would like to know how to get "talking books" onto it, as my sister see you soon they are great for relaxing you, I would like to try one.

Just as a heads up for non-apple-folks... Anyone who lives near an Apple store? There's a free "Genius Bar" where you can sit face to face with a real person who will walk you through every step with any apple device, as well as convert-classes held in groups with the same device (I like 1:1, personally..,. From: Yo! I broke the internet! To: Where are the breaks on this rocket???). Also, any kind of repair or problem? Ditto. There's also phone & chat & online tutorials. They make it really, really easy to make the switch. :D

Absolutely @FridayJones, Apple really is awesome. I've sat back and watched some classes whilst in store, and they teach people everything. I've picked things up just watching them, not participating in them.

@KwanYingirl, Facebook compresses video to what they deem acceptable for their website. You don't lose the clarity of a good video when compressed, no -- but I would find it unlikely they will keep the 4k resolution, and instead drop it to whatever resolution they use, decreasing the file size for their servers and streaming abilities.

I am back at the iPhone 5, I bought it from my daughter when her hubby gave her a 6. the five was under a year old. Remember the days when small was good? The 5 is bigger than I want, it does not really fit into my back pocket easily. My 4 was on the way to iPhone heaven, otherwise I would still have it. No way I will go to the 6 at the moment.

Just as an aside, though, if you value top notch pictures, then I would say Samsung wins hands down. I was on a trip to Costa Rica recently, and I was taking distance shots of some gorgeous birds with my iPhone through the telescope of the birding guy. He pulled out his Samsung, can't remember which one (I am not up on their product) but it was the most recent at the time, and took the same shots. The colours in his pictures and the details were absolutely amazing. Mine were really good, but his just popped.

Samsung is good, but not close to the new iPhone. The 6 and 6+ have the same photo and video quality that the samsung do now. The new ones, blown away the Samsung's new Galaxy 6 range they just launched.

iPhone 5 and 5s isn't close to the newer 6 and 6s versions for photography.

Nicolette fell into that exact trap, trying the Samsung Galaxy 5 because it had better picture quality than the 5s... and she had nothing but issues overall with the phone. As soon as the iPhone 6 came out, she swapped back to the 6+ which has equal photographic quality to both Galaxy 5 & 6.

Makes me think seriously about upgrading my phone instead of buying a new camera the next time around. I have a high end point and shoot which is heavier than its predecessors because I want decent zoom. On the Costa Rica trip and my trip to India, when it came time for a spontaneous shot with minimal fuss, the iPhone was pulled out each time. With decent results. Now you really have me thinking.....and three years of income tax refunds in my pocket soon....

Funny you say that... cause we're putting our Canon DSLR on eBay come November, for the same reason. There's just no point in having one when a phone does it better. We're getting the 128Gb versions just because of 4k video.
