How I envy you that Melody, the ones I have scare the sh*t out of me! They are so bad that I'm too scared to try and sleep again, in case I have another one, which has happened in the past.

I was once told by a therapist, that if I wrote as much as I could remember down, and get it down on paper, then I wouldn't have that one ever again, but I'm afraid that never worked, in fact it made things worse!

But, we are human so no one treatment fixes all, so I'm still looking for a way of preventing them.

I used to write my nightmares down, too, Gadgie, but it never helped prevent them. So I gave up doing that. When I wake up from a really bad nightmare, I stay up far awhile so I don't go back into it.

Thanks for your post, I now know that I'm not the only person suffering like that, as I always thought that I was abnormal, so the only person I confided in was the therapist.

The reason I mentioned it on here, was because since joining this site, my confidence has increased a great deal, and I feel comfortable, so I had the confidence to write about it.

Are your nightmares random, or actual events that you have been through? All mine are factual, and so precise in detail, it's like reliving it all over again, and that's the scariest part about them!
