I have noticed over the last 6 months or so, when I get stressed or angry my upper arms hurt or go numb. Yesterday the feeling went all the way down my arm to my hand. I felt lots of tingling around my wrist. Has anyone ever had an issue with this?
Thanks!!

Hi Blue Dream,
My arms and hands are numb most mornings from holding them so tight at night while I am having nightmares. I'm not sure if it's the same thing but it also happens in the daytime as well when I'm stressed.

Do you tense your arms up when you feel stressed of angry ? Or hold your hands tight ?

Yep. From an assault I found that I would sleep with my arms tight across my chest and hands gripping my shoulders/ neck. A recent physical assault where I was dragged by my arms and wrists have made it much worse. Pulled tendons in shoulders, through elbows and to the tips of my fingers. Hands on top very swollen and fingers. Hands feel like a truck ran over them. PT is helping only minor. I use homeopathic meds and one I found is helping significantly. Sciatica Relief (mfg TRP). I was tossed onto the road so also have lumbar disc protusions / spasms. Used to walk the do 2-3 miles a day. Sleep is only maybe 3 hrs, deep then constant repositioning, mostly for the arms. I have a high pain threshold but the arm pain is exquisite. Weakness also, hard to hold a book at times, and no dog leash, short walks. PT thinks rotator cuff. Can't afford chiro. Combo for my of the physical and the PTSD from yet another trauma. Want to read "The Body Keeps the Score."

Yes, I get numbness and pain in my elbows. I find that I constantly clench my fists. I have to keep my fingernails super short because I was digging into my palms. I now carry two handkerchiefs that I roll up and squeeze. They serve double duty when I break out in sweats.

Me too, more from anxiety than stress or anger.

Starts with a breathlessness that becomes numbness and pain radiating down my left arm. (Heart is fine, had it checked)

My hands begin to ache and tingle when I feel almost any emotion too vividly. If it's really bad, I will get pain that seems to emanate or shoot from my chest down my arms all the way to my hands, and I sometimes get numbness in my hands/fingers.

I also get tingling, pins and needles, and sometimes severe numbness in my upper legs/thighs. I thought it was connected to my birth control when it first started, but I think it has to do with my PTSD and trauma now, because I have experienced it while not on BC.

would be wise to check with a medical doctor to make sure that you aren't dismissing symptoms

This is a very good idea. While stress/anxiety are infamous for mimicking the symptoms of serious conditions, it never hurts to be thorough. Not to mention that it is also easier to ignore the symptoms, when you can feel more certain it is not actually something to worry about.

I have nerve damage in my neck c5/c6 and when i tense or get stressed or do to much the symptoms give pain all through my upper and lower arms sometimes tingles in fingers, i constantly drop things without meaning to. If you could have possibly hurt your neck look up nerve damage of c5/c6. i also sleep with my arms tight around me and underneath my body weight and get also simmilar weak numb arms
