Articles - What Do You Want To See?

Something I just wrote in another thread reminded me to ask this question.

We have an Articles Forum, and would like some suggestions as to what you would like to see there? Is there any information that you need/want to see? Any recurring themes that you think warrant further explanation or guidance? All suggestions are welcome. I'm happy to research and write about anything 'sexual abuse' related, I'm just currently a bit lacking in the initial inspiration, so thought I'd ask you lovely people!

Just to add that if you want to write an article for posting here you are more than welcome - see this post for more details [DLMURL]http://sexabuse.ptsdforum.org/threads/site-upgrade.397/[/DLMURL]
Also, if you are considering writing an Article, please send me a PC regarding the topic before you write it. The last thing we want is 2 people writing Articles on the same subject, at the same time! (It's probably unlikely but....)

So, anyway, you suggestions please!

I do have a suggestion. The physical health risks caused by trauma. I am obsessed (almost) with the thought of the fear/anxiety actually causing my death. Not suicide. Like a stroke or heart attack.

So this would be of great interest to me, to see what research says on the subject.

I just want articles, any type. I think they're the most important feature of the PTSD forum, and I definitely think we need them here ASAP.

Suggestion.....

The effects of childhood sexual abuse

Hi,
I too like to read as much as I can. Recently I have been looking for information specifically related to constipation and PTSD ( as opposed to constipation as a result of the child abuse per se). I have found very little on the topic.

I would also like to see how others in my profession (as a nurse) deal with life. I am sure many other people would be interested in how it relates to their careers too.

Another favourite of mine is the links with other associated diagnoses - particularly BPD.

...and then there is sex and relationships.

I've read a lot about the seeming connection of Migraines and Fibromyalgia in women who were sexually abused as childern. I was Dx'd with FM a few yrs back although I'm really not sure if it body memories or actual FM but I can attest to the severity of the pain that leaves me sometimes wrapped in heating pads from head to toe and the nerves all over my body hyperactive making a simple touch feel equivalent to that of a dagger :goingtocry:.It comes and goes along with the chronic fatigue.

I have also had a couple of crippling bouts of psoriasis that involved the bottoms of my feet, the palms of my hands, and my scalp. It went on for about a year and a half both times. It was horrible and then just went away as fast as it came.

I believe these are all immune disorders of some kind and I wonder if they are all connected originally to the childhood abuse. It would be interesting to have articles that show these different studies and discussions.

Good suggestions people - thanks.

I'll start looking into it, and get at least one or 2 articles going, as a start  Just bear with me - because it does take a bit of time to research and write!

Keep the ideas coming :D
