@berlinda Oh, mine too...when we were kids, my sister and I were always pleading with him to wear a different shoe or at least take the bloody socks off!
I think Brits dither more than our European neighbours. As an example, I give you watching a British couple trying to choose a pair of sunbeds on the beach. They shuffle up every row, point to various options, look up at the sun, look back to the beds, look at the sun again...shuffle round the rows again...look at the sun again...then finally commit but still look uncertain...
Italians, Spanish, Greek, Dutch, Germans, French...stride quickly and purposefully across the beach and sit down on a bed. Boom!
Partner and I spend a lot of time saying things like ‘let’s just sit down now because we’re looking embarrassingly English!’
