Never!
I've had teeny tiny bananas no longer than the width of your hand, in the Cook Islands (best bananas ever).
But never a red one. Is this some niche Brit thing I have never heard of? :laugh:

A little banana story...

My Grandma came to the US with her parents and little brother in 1915 at the age of 4. (They were supposed to be on the Titanic but her lil bro was sick they would have surely perished as they were in 3rd class) We would always sit around and ask her questions about her life. One day I asked what she remembered about coming to America. She said "I had my first banana on the ship". No bananas in Belgium in the early 1900's.

Which colour kiwifruit are we talking?

I've only ever seen green ones. Never yellow or red.

They suddenly appeared in health food stores in the early 1980s. My middle school friend always brought one for lunch and ate it like an apple, so I always do too. The hairy rind is my favorite part. Even though it looks like one of the Incredible Hulk's testicles.

@LuckiLee I'm pretty sure my Dad had his first ever banana aged about 8 after the 2nd world war ended and gradually rationing ended. He had never seen one in his life before that - born in '39 :)

Can’t do bananas. The taste is fine but the texture is awful. When you make banana bread the look reminds me of what is in the kids old baby diapers. Same with coconut, texture reminds me of beeswax.

Depends on the person. I traveled for work a lot so have been to 46 of the 50 states but a lot do not. For instance if I traveled to California by car it would be 2800 miles to get there one way.

I try to travel to the other states. I've only been to about 10 of them so far. I'm in Michigan and do most of our traveling here. Michigan is absolutely beautiful and we're surrounded by our Great Lakes. The Upper Peninsula is breathtaking.

When we retire we would love to buy a motor home and visit all of our states.
