New Here
So in the last few weeks my insomnia has gotten a lot worse even with my nightly dose of Trazodone which I've been on much of 2 years. The last couple of weeks my anxiety at night has gotten worse as well. I haven't had fear of sleeping in almost a year. I wake up at 2 or 3 in the morning with anxiety and rapid thoughts about the negative stuff.

Also my anger has returned which is bad because I recently moved into a mental health recovery center. Let's just say there might be a hole in the wall..oops...anyways not sure why some of my symptoms are coming back again more triggers I guess since I live with roughly 140 other people and dealing with my parents. I had to leave my ptsd psychologist behind in my last town and have not found a new one yet.

A little confused...could stress bring out these symptoms again?

Absolutely! Stress can undo all our best intentions. You're a little off the beam right now especially your living arrangement. Sleep is a fickle friend to PTSDers. Tell your treating physician. Maybe a change in meds would help? Try not to feel overstimulated by all the people around you or you'll be overwhelmed and the out goes coping ability. Good luck with your treatment I wish you well.

That, in itself, can be quite a huge change and can add to your feelings of stress. I hope you find a new one soon. Ask for help, though. Finding a new therapist on your own can be daunting. Even the move into the center is another big change in your life right now. Remember that all these feelings you are having are only temporary and will pass. A lot is going on for you.

I know the feeling of insomnia and racing thoughts. I am sorry that you are experiencing that right now. Also, sometimes my dreams are so severe and I wake up with a feeling of such angst, that I literally run out of my room. I can empathize.

It will get better though. Right now, it seems like you are in a big transition period. Also, you are sensitive so you are picking up other people's anxiety and taking it on. Remember, it is not yours. Center yourself. You can do this. Also, nothing is ever permanent. Your anxiety and sleep issues will get better. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Rising Sun.
