Bad Near Death Experiences?

Hashi,

I am not qualified to answer so should not really be answering but wanted ti support you.

I haven't read all the post here but what occurred to me is that it is possible that our mindframe before influences the type of experience that we have. With lessor situations I know that sometimes I have reacted very differently to similarly serious situations. It is hard to understand why. Maybe a combination of many, many different things.

What occurs to me is that something such as out of body experiences can be very convincing and yet I don't believe they are what they appear to be. I have seen the top of my head and other things in the room or elsewhere that it was impossible that I should have seen. Does that mean I am crazy or wrong or bad? No. It just means that that was how my mind and body were processing things.

As you know I am quite practical so this surely wont be others perception and as I said I have not experienced what you describe. I understand that we are not talking about thinking one will die here but rather the experience of dying and how awful that was for you. No bright light of positive relief but rather horror.

Please feel free to ignore what I said. For myself I do just think that experiences like this (positive or horrific) could possibly be to do with many complex workings of our brains, bodies and other trauma or feelings. I hope that was OK to say.

I can only imagine the horror of having something like that hanging over ones head as a backdrop to life.

And I did not realise it was old, am glad to hear you have found so much peace and understanding! And what I said is again quite obviously again an indication of my lack of spirituality! ;) So please ignore. I shall not edit.

This is a valid thing to consider, and I have thought about how much the situation beforehand would have influenced the experience. You may mean from a more neurological/neurochemical viewpoint and me from a more psychic/metaphysical one, but it's the same fundamental question. At the time of posting this, I was reading a lot generally about near death experiences. I found that the circumstances of the death, and the frame of mind of the person beforehand, seemed to have no correlation to the experience.

I also looked at how much a person's general beliefs and expectations affect the experience. These also don't seem to correlate.

Thanks for your support, Abstract.
