Bad Reaction

Do you think it's still working for you? I know that there has been some research suggesting that it...
I'm thinking it may not be as effective anymore. I'm having the same symptoms that I did when the celexa stopped working. But I've only been on cymbalta for 3 years. I figured it would last longer?

Again, just my experience - but the buproprion really helped amplify the effect of the cymbalta for me, sort of brought it back to life after about a year. Usually the first step, when a medication seems to be weakening, is to prescribe an adjunct (instead of fully switching) - in your case, celexa, which has been a really bad idea and isn't helping. I wish I knew more about the best adjuncts - I don't, really.

Are you doing this with a psych or with a GP? And can you change psychs, if you're currently with one?

About a week, roughly, for the celexa to fully clear your system. But it will steadily decrease in p...
So I should start feeling a little better? Could it also make me feel shaky and panicky? I've just never had a bad reaction like this so I don't know what to expect

This is with a psych. I really like her, just not her choice of meds she gave me. She wanted to start me on celexa and wean me off the cymbalta. But if there was a way to add something to give the cymbalta it's effect. I'd love to try it.

You should feel much better if you don't take anymore celexa right now. Weaning off of cymbalta isn't so bad if you do it slowly--a few blue pellets at a time. Going cold turkey can put you in the hospital, or even be fatal. After about two days without it, I start feeling very bad.

Could it also make me feel shaky and panicky?
Yeah. My bad reaction was with - OMG, this is hysterical - celexa. I forgot that celexa is citalopram, somehow. OK. I totally had this happen to me! Yes, you're gonna feel like you have the flu, that's the best way I can describe it. Just treat yourself like you have the flu.

I was on cymbalta when it was still covered by patent, and my insurance company would not pay for it unless I tried one SSRI. It was getting really expensive, so I did a titration down on the cymbalta and started with celexa. I literally though I was losing my mind within about three days. By the end of the first week I couldn't figure out how to make my telephone work, it was really scary. And that was with having already nearly cleared the cymbalta. Gosh, I remember it so well. Sorry I didn't remember sooner.

Just think that it's the flu. Be easy on your body, baby yourself a little, and drink lots of water. You'll feel better soon, you really should.

It's horrible! I haven't ate in 2 days. I feel shaky and anxious. I feel a tiny bit better today. But...
Try your best to get plenty of clear liquids. Drinking a liquid meal such as Carnation Instant Breakfast or Insure will get some quick nutrients into you. I have to say that you had a very close call. Good thing you stopped taking the celexa.
