Nothing to say to this OP other than I don't condone dating people who are rude to kids because that, to me, is the ultimate test of character: how a person treats kids, animals, disabled, and elderly is all I need to know about them.

There are so many different layers to my current situation that I know I am going to be long win...

I would say you got yourself trapped into a very sick situation with a bad man. I have done the same in the past and had a breakdown, but it was part of coming from a very bad family that led me into it. I later married a man who others thought was pure as snow but he fooled them and I didn't know truth from untruth. Now I wonder if I was free if I would ever make a good choice but hope I would stay single if I wasn't sure. I have learned to say no to my strong desires. It's not easy and takes time, but you can control your mind and temptations.
Assure yourself he is sick and you will only be destroyed by him. There are good healthy people in the world but they don't want to lose their strength fixing every hurt person, so you have to know and heal your own weaknesses and value whatever help you receive to gain your own healthy strength. Recognize sick people. They are not here for you to heal. Your relationship with God is the only thing that counts in the end or in the present.
