And then you have the choice to just go and be YOU.... what ever that is at any given moment...To me, we were each given this life, to learn. To teach, and to right wrongs and to sometimes to let go with love... it's complicated, this being a human. And we complicate it further with our brain, that does not see the world as 'others' do.... to me, that is a blessing... never ever ever did I want to grow up to be a soccer mom.... makes me shiver to even say that....
We are who we are, with our own purpose and our own fingerprints to leave in this world..... in the bigger picture..... does it really make or break you what these other women think of you??? I don't think so... You are too strong and too brave for that kind of nonsense..... so ya, it's cultural... I live in a part of the States that being a Southern Belle is an unspoken requirement.... doesn't seem that is in my life plan.... the thought of it makes me want to run...
We had a Governor of Texas, Ann Richards, that was anything but a Southern Belle, One of my most favorite pictures of her is her setting on a Harley Davidson motorcycle.... she was tough, she was funny, and she was one of the absolute best representatives of our state ever.... Sshe followed her own path.... just as many women I know who did, myself included.... those rules did not apply to me.... for people that are REAL, we just have a lot of trouble with all the pretense and surface BS..... a hundred years from now, will it really matter if you weren't perfect on this trip home... I don't think so.... keep that in mind.... a hundred years from now, none of this will matter... be YOU... give them a breath of fresh air and authenticity.... I can't help but believe that the majority of those women wish they could be like you... and break protocol and just be the woman you are..... just go be you !!! That is good enough on any given day.
