Hi everyone. I'm an English major and I'm currently writing my thesis on how the book-length poem by C.D. Wright uses ghost tropes that "haunt" the reader throughout the novel to express actions of suffering and healing through the various short stories that sporadically play out throughout the novel. Much similar to a PTSD episode, the stories are fragmented and short, but will pop up again in the poem.
It is a wonderful poem if any of you enjoy reading poetry as much as myself. She is a modern poet who currently teaches at Brown University. You can also hear Wright reading her book-length poem on the UPenn website.
If you are interested in discussing this poem, let me know. Also, I'm going to post a poll just to gauge how everyone is here.
