Has anyone tried the Brainwave Optimization treatment yet? I would appreciate hearing what it was like for you and if it was helpful or not.

Do you mean Neurofeedback? (It sounds like another name for neurofeedback).

I haven't but seeing as the marketers of the treatment state Brainwave Optimization:
is not intended to treat, cure, heal or diagnose any disease, mental illness or symptom
I should imagine that this should be supplementary to any other therapies and medications from trained professionals and not a replacement. I must admit by it's name I was very skeptical of it even before I read that statement. I must admit due to the lack of hard scientific evidence, it's bold/strong claims and use of jargon I'm still skeptical. Also in my personal experience a lot of alternative therapies are designed for people who struggle with daily life due to mild stresses and depression and are not really suitable for people who are seriously mentally ill or have severe trauma issues define PTSD, though I don't doubt that they could be helpful addressing some aspects of depression, anxiety and sleep problems.

Though of course, I have not encountered it first hand and am always interested (albeit wary) of new things and I too would like to hear of some experiences/encounters or even just an clear explanation of what it is/hopes to achieve and how from someone who knows and/or understands more about this treatment form. Unfortunately in my current understanding of it, it sounds a bit quacky!

@Solara Apparently it's different to Neurofeedback because (amongst others similar statements):
Neurofeedback depends on training the person to change their brain. Brainwave Optimization helps the brain to change itself.

Essentially it's a branded form of therapy with the tagline "better than Neurofeedback", personally I don't trust it as far as I can throw a stick. I'd like to and will listen open mindedly, but I would personally feel uncomfortable recommending for or against it until I know more.

Yeah well the same can be said for neurofeedback! So many say it's the bee's knees with no side effects, but the truth is that it has very serious side effects! It's unregulated so anybody can make such unsubstantiated claims.
