I didn't realise this had been posted about yet as I was just getting ready to start a thread myself. As many know, I live in Mormonville, aka Salt Lake City. While I don't know the vitims personaly I know people who do.

My daughter went there. Similar struggle with a less serious aspect. We found that individuals in some capacities took things too far but that the school Itself was not supportive of them and actually issued an apology as well as reimbursement for things paid for that she was unable to participate in after the trauma. But this is a problem on a large scale at lots of religious universities and needs to be addressed ASAP. After sharing our experiences we had people come forward from other universities with other religious affiliations.....there is a meme going around Facebook that says Christians don't necessarily have to work so hard to spread the Word...the just need to live their lives and try not to be jerks. Unfortunately there are a lot of judgemental jerks out there (blame the victim jerks, slut shaming jerks, condescending jerks .....of all religions....none of them acting very much like the Savior they claim to follow.

Last year I tried attending Utah State University, and I, a male, was sexually harassed by a couple of girls on the volleyball team. I filed several complaints about this and *I* was the one that got in trouble.

In nearly any school, if you are sexually assaulted, harassed or raped, you're better off keeping your mouth shut.

Wow @cactus_jack thats terrible! I am wondering if in your case it was a matter of bias? I mean females are the typical victims, males are the typical perpetrators. Go against this and---- I mean how many females get into trouble for reporting males?

Of course it's bias. I'm (now) 46. Then I was 45. The girls were doing it as a joke. Yeah, funny, not.
I have some of the harssment from the school recorded. End result was me getting an academic withdrawal shoved down my throat.
In the mean time, I'm at a different college a few hundred miles away, my cumulative gpa is now 2.8 (was 3.2, after fall semester). Difference? I made it clear that if any of the women wanna (sexual explitive), I'm game. And so far no problems. Strange how that happens. I really don't want to (sexual expletive) and my friends and the school know that. The rest, who cares?
