For cardio I fence weekly. It certainly gets the heart pumping. For balance, strength and flexibilty I do yoga twice weekly. It all helps me physically as well as mentally. When my PTSD exploded into my life, I found that the muscle tension was so bad that I would get knots in my muscles. I read that exercising was the best way to get your muscles to let go and stop the pain. And it worked!
Some of the side benefits for me have been that by having these mulpitle scheduled events, it gives me something to look forward to. It also helps with the agoraphobia by making me leave the house and go be around people. Plus on the nights that I work out I find I sleep better.
