PTSD or PTSI, still mental illness and still a mental disorder.
That's what I was just thinking. PTSD, PTSI, doesn't make a difference. The symptoms would still be the same, the way it affects sufferers would still be the same, there would be no change. If there is a stigma- IMO, So what? As long as we know we're strong, it doesn't matter what others think. They haven't survived what we have, they can't make judgements.
It's like "a rose by any other name would smell as sweet." Why change the name if nothing about the diagnosis would change? I think it would also cause confusion to people who are already familiar with the word PTSD to change it to PTSI.
