Long-term changes in immune function caused by childhood trauma could explain increased vulnerability to a range of health problems in later life, according to new research. The study found heightened inflammation across three blood biomarkers in adults who had been victims of childhood trauma. Childhood trauma was defined by the researchers as experiencing sexual, physical or emotional abuse, neglect, or separation from caregivers before the age of 17.

Ugh... odd to be scientifically validated but intrigued about the inflammation thing... that is my worst symptom and adversely affects my sleep apnea even with a c-pap machine. Interesting too, what the article said about different types of inflammation depending on the type of trauma. Think I'm gonna drop this link in my diary to reread.

I have seriously upped my self care since reading this. I have a long way to go but I have improved dramatically. Not much of a contribution to this thread, I know. But it does help, for me any way, to read this type of information.
