Although I do know the historical context of this passage, surrounding Judas Iscariot, It's been on my mind for a few days because of my dad who is buried in a potter's field on Hart Island to be specific. He passed away on March 15, 2010. Until that day this passage will remain on my profile.

"And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter's field to bury strangers in." Matthew 27.7

Psalm 36:5-10 Common English Bible (CEB)
5 But your loyal love, Lord, extends to the skies;
your faithfulness reaches the clouds.
6 Your righteousness is like the strongest mountains;
your justice is like the deepest sea.
Lord, you save both humans and animals.
7 Your faithful love is priceless, God!
Humanity finds refuge in the shadow of your wings.
8 They feast on the bounty of your house;
you let them drink from your river of pure joy.
9 Within you is the spring of life.
In your light, we see light.

10 Extend your faithful love to those who know you;
extend your righteousness to those whose heart is right.

If someone says, “I love God,” but hates a fellow believer, that person is a liar; for if we don’t love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see? And he has given us this command: Those who love God must also love their fellow believers.
1 John 4:20-21 NLT

From Jesus Calling - Jan 14th

"There is no place for pretense in your relationship with Me. Rejoice in the relief of being fully understood. Talk with Me about your struggles and feelings of inadequacy. Little by little, I will transform your weaknesses into strengths. Remember that your relationship with me is saturated in grace. Therefore, nothing that you do or don't do can separate you from My Presence."

I find this exceptionally comforting given the ups and down of living with PTSD or just living in general. It tells me I am "enough," that I have a partner in this life and that I am unconditionally loved.

Hoping you have a blessed day! VB

I am reading a special Bible this year. It has a devotion for each day of the year, which have summaries of what you will read in the chapters that you read on that day. It is a plan to read the whole Bible in a year. I am enjoying it and I like the summaries especially, as they in some way explain a bit about the chapters you read. It is called THE DAILY WALK BIBLE and is published by Tyndale which can be visited online at Link Removed . It is not to heavy to hold comfortably in your hand and it is a soft covered one. It is the New Living Translation, of course, as that is my favorite one. I find it the easiest to understand of all the Bibles I have.

We usually know the first of these verses by heart, at least I do. I feel that this second and third verse are equally as important, but no one has ever suggested I memorize those:

John 3:16-18 New Living Translation (NLT)

16 “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. 17 God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.

18 “There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only Son.
