I agree, @hodge, he's a self inflicted brain wreck and as a seasoned debater, all Hill has to do is give him enough rope to hang himself. I'm also pouring wine and standing by...

M*A*S*H* is a MUCH better TV choice!

I'm watching the debates. Well, for now. I might run out screaming sometime soon. This is painful to watch.

Donald, what's up with the sniffing? He seems very down. Like he's on downers. (I'm TOTALLY speculating here.) Just something seems very off. Clinton is dressed like a therapist, pantsuit style. Very different from her red power suit from the last debate. (These outfits for both of them are very planned.) The country does need a therapist right about now for the damage this election cycle has caused. Trump traded his blue tie for a red one. Interesting.

Weird to see Trump turn a question about the Trump tapes into a rant about ISIS, avoids an apology, and then proceeds to tell Hillary she needs to apologize.

The audience questions are smart. The moderators seem decent so far. The answers are annoying, at best. Sigh. This is depressing to watch. I'm not learning anything new.

Trump just reminds me too much of my brother and all I can think about is how much I'd like to choke him. Not useful! And, I'm appreciating my T's speech yesterday about how "that is NOT how guys actually talk in locker rooms!" because watching Trump minimize and avoid admitting it was wrong (because he doesn't think it's wrong)........ Yech!!!:wtf:

I watched the debate with neighbors and chatted with others online. Just about everyone supported a different candidate, but we all spent the 90 minutes of the debate cracking jokes. Americans give me hope. We can pull together and get through this thing. :D

@scout86, Trump reminds me of my mother and she supports him. It is so hard to even email her these days. I feel like she's totally betrayed me. I simply cannot deal with communicating with her. I'm afraid I'll go off the rails. Friday night I was really tempted to email her and ask her if she was still going to vote for a self-confessed sexual assaulter, but I didn't, because I don't want to enter that discussion. Yeah, I'm a wuss right now. I cannot handle any conflict atm.

What is up with his sniffling? He was doing that at the last debate, too. Is this some side effect of maybe some sedative his campaign people put him on? Because he didn't seem to go totally off the rails as he usually does when there's no teleprompter and he's just on his own.

Hubby thinks it's a side effect of snorting something.

Isn't it pathetic that these questions even have to be asked about a presidential candidate? God help us.

I think Hillary handled the Trump tapes well, but Trump didn't seem to recognize he boastfully confessed to sexual assault. The video of that part of the debate can be seen here:

Trump said he would appoint a special prosecutor to investigate Hillary. He's openly threatening criminal legal action against his political rivals. He said, "you'll be in jail" to Clinton.

He also threw his VP, Mike Pence, under the bus, and said he disagreed with him on Syria. His plans for the Middle East were very aggressive. He didn't seem to understand some of the complexities there and why we don't go in and just destroy Mosul. (So many reasons, not the least of which is that ISIS leaders are headquartered in Raqqa right now anyhow.) Slate describes the problems with Trump's world salad of forigen policy here: Dead Link Removed

Clinton had a stronger stance on immigration than I have seen before dying she would deny entry into the US to anyone who poses a risk.

She went toe to toe with Trump better than any GOP debater did. But she didn't perform as well as some hoped she would.

I like the question from the audience at the very end. They were asked to say something they respected about each other. Clinton easily talked about her respect for Trump's kids. Trump struggled a bit at first, and then said he respected Clinton for not being a quitter.

What is up with his sniffling?
He was inhaling through his nose when answering, and either not staying relaxed enough to keep his nasal passages open or has some light congestion.

Some public speaking coaches advise clients to breathe in through the nose. He was doing it in a very regimented way, when he was answering in sentences with full stops. I figure it was coaching.
