Colorful and hopefully optimistic but maybe hateful occasionally

I cleaned up a spot a bit so I could prepare to put Dove’s bigger cage in the bird room. I found my dad’s favorite cushion. I’m sort of tempting to mail it to him. So he knows that even that I won’t answer his calls, it’s not pure hatred.

But I dunno. He’s smart, but in a 3rd grader way. So it might just make him think black and white thoughts like “she’s talking to me again” which wouldn’t be particularly constructive for fixing our relationship.

I got a letter from a bank I don’t bank (5/3) that claims I’ve been preapproved for a credit card. Does that mean what it says?

I don’t have steady income right now so that’s probably a disqualifier?

Yep!

My twin bro has an apartment and I considered being his neighbor. He and I have complete opposite views and occasionally we get a bit peeved over it (as in, he’ll talk down to me without having done any research — such as with the “no ultrasounds or doctors for babies” bs) so I would have to remember to leave if drama happened. Like if his wife reminded me for the 432nd time that I should overly-girly myself until I’m straight.

There is also an apartment complex in a cheaper part of town which is known for drug addicts robbing people? One time a bullet went through a neighbor’s walk into her house? So, uh, probs not there.

I also found a website that lets people advertise their need for a roommate, which is helpful if I am worried about finances.

My friend Ford says he’s going to get an apartment in a city between Home and University so that might be useful :) Plus he’s really chill and would probably let me bring my bird and snake, except he has a cat and my sister wants me to take her two cats so that would be a challenge at the least.

Plus if the place ends up smelling like cat poo I might lose my mind, lol

My goals are to get my driver’s license, then look for work (based on my experience I can be a manager, a scientist, or a librarian, but will settle for grocery store work if needed temporarily and move up until I have a better offer). I decided I better not do farm work right now, though I have farm work experience.

Once I have work, I will save a reasonable amount and then once I have enough, look for somewhere cool.

I’ll get a credit card once I have income and then (probably whichever one my sister uses?) and build some credit. I will have massive student loan payments but hopefully will also be able to consider getting a lil house eventually. Renting a house even. If that doesn’t hurt my ability to own one eventually.

Brandi’s mom used to rent houses and she went bankrupt over and over and over, so I feel like I could manage as long as I have a good paycheck and at honest with the landlord? Hopefully I don’t get a mean landlord?

I’m at a weird position where I kind of know how stuff works but have just enough unknowns that it’s spooky

Completely natural to have unknowns. How could you know if you've never really done it, right?

When I first moved I got a really expensive apartment for my income and need :hilarious:
Then realized it was too expensive and weird too, inside rooms with no windows for example, R was pissed to live there too, so we moved to a better one and less expensive where we stayed for about a year? I think so.
Then we broke up and I moved to an extremelly cheap one (I was actually making good money then, but thought to save, which I actually didn't) but had rats under the floorboards!! And the landlord wound sneak in when I wasn't there too. Then roommated for a while, really weird house too, but it was fun. Around 6 months there. Then me and R found a great and cheap place where I stayed for almost 2 years, great landlady and awesome apartment really, river view, but really old hence so cheap.

Best apartment ever was even cheaper than that one, renovated, huge rooms, great kitchen and bathroom, a big garden in the back. Stayed there for a year until going to the hospital and moving back in with my mom. Oh wait, no. Still roommated for a bit, rented a room for about a month before going to the hospital. Sucked ass!

Well, neat!!!

Not the sucky room, though!

Hopefully I can get a cheap and decent one! If I can get one with a pool, I’d be pretty pleased :P

I know a guy in university who charges $200 a room and no other fees, he even provides a mattress. I wish they’d get a permanent job ready for me, because I’d be willing to settle for that for a year or so! Though it’d be a little tough living out of one room, lol

Oh, we get used to it. You can still use the kitchen, not sure if there's a living room or not, but when I shared apartments usually the kitchen was where all the fun was :D

That room sucked because I was sharing the apartment with a quiet-very-controlling girl, a selfie-obsessed girl who talked way too much on the phone, and a guy who had the illuminati symbol tattooed on his arm and kept saying he wanted to be a part of them. Plus I was psychotic, they were all part of it :cautious:  They were very afraid of my night terrors.

Lol, nice.

That sort of sounds fun???

I believe kids in this dude’s house only stay for months at a time, if not a week or less, so it’d at least be easier to get along with people who suck a bit. :P

Plus the man who owns the house is the descendant of the man who invented the dorm room (mostly, long story — my university did legitimately have the first fraternity in the US though!), so he’s modeled his house after that man. Except his house has plumbing! And maybe A/C! And WiFi!

The original M residence had a shared fireplace, though, so that’s a feature I miss. The current M never locks his door, sort of hoards things people leave behind, and has tons of antique busts of famous people from the University including his family members. (My university treats its history as legend. You have to when... ah, well, whatever, it’s the University of the South, and they formed before and then permanently established after the civil war, but don’t let them know I’ve told any secrets in this diary! Lol)

Actually, I wonder if any department there would hire me.... I could bike everywhere there. Maybe I should still get my lisence first so I can live farther away and pay cheaper rent. lol. Why doesn’t my city have any public transportation??? Not even a bus! So rude.

The city used to be less than 1000 people, but still no reason to not have transportation. I wonder if I wrote several letters a day in complaint if they’d think about gifting us just one bus, now that the population is more than 10,000?

Which has been a WEIRD transition by the way! I no longer know who people are talking about when they gossip o.O
