New Here
good day all,

so recently had a C&P for increase in PTSD but the results are confusing, can anyone help please see below.

Does the Veteran now have or has he/she ever been diagnosed with PTSD?

[X] Yes [ ] No

2. Current Diagnoses

--------------------

a. Mental Disorder Diagnosis #1: PTSD

Comments, if any: See "discussion of claims" in the

"Remarks" section

below for more information. See the February/March 2017 compensation

and

pension examination for additional information about these conditions.

Mental Disorder Diagnosis #2: Alcohol Use Disorder, Early Remission

Comments, if any: See "discussion of claims" in the

"Remarks" section

below for more information. See the February/March 2017 compensation

and

pension examination for additional information about these conditions.

Mental Disorder Diagnosis #3: Unspecified Depressive Disorder

Comments, if any: See "discussion of claims" in the

"Remarks" section

below for more information. See the February/March 2017 compensation

and

pension examination for additional information about these conditions.

Mental Disorder Diagnosis #4: Conversion Disorder, with Speech Symptom,

with Psychological Stressor

Comments, if any: Less than likely as not related to military service.

See "discussion of claims" in the "Remarks" section

below for more

information. See the February/March 2017 compensation and pension

examination for additional information about these conditions.

4. Occupational and social impairment

-------------------------------------

a. Which of the following best summarizes the Veteran's level of

occupational

and social impairment with regards to all mental diagnoses? (Check only

one)

[X] Occupational and social impairment with deficiencies in most areas,

such as work, school, family relations, judgment, thinking and/or

mood

b. For the indicated level of occupational and social impairment, is it

possible to differentiate what portion of the occupational and social

impairment indicated above is caused by each mental disorder?

[X] Yes [ ] No [ ] No other mental disorder has been diagnosed

If yes, list which portion of the indicated level of occupational and

social impairment is attributable to each diagnosis: See 3/2017

compensation and pension examination. It should be noted that the

veteran's service connected mental health conditions appear to

be

having significant impacts on his functioning. He has been taken to

the hospital approximately 3 times in the past 2 years for suicidal

ideation in the context of alcohol use. The veteran's PTSD and

Unspecified Depressive Disorder appear to cause approximately 60% of

his impairment, with approximately 20% attributable to Alcohol Use

Disorder and 20% attributable to Conversion disorder. If only taking

into consideration the veteran's PTSD, Unspecified Depressive

Disorder

and Alcohol Use Disorder, the veteran's symptoms result in

occupational and social impairment with reduced reliability and

productivity

What exactly do you need to know. A wild guess based on this is that you are looking at a rating between 50-70%. The mental disorders will all be considered. However, you can only be rated for one mental disorder.

So even tho it says "
Occupational and social impairment with deficiencies in most areas, such as work, school, family relations, judgment, thinking and/or mood" it can still be 50%, I get confused because I Google a lot and from I have read that would be 70%.
