C&p Exam #confused

I have been logging onto myhealthyvet nearly every 12-18 hours to see if my C&P exam notes have been uploaded. Just 5 minutes ago I logged in again. And low and behold, there the notes were. And surprisingly it states exactly as the examiner said.

Severe chronic PTSD with occupational and social impairment with reduced reliability and productivity.

So I guess it was real.

Small miracles do happen Grizz.
Not sure if you want congratulations on this.
FWIW, maybe it gives you some peace of mind.

At one point I thought it would grant me peace. But it doesn't really. It's all about learning tools and treatment.

Hopefully it will eventually raise some awareness of my other issues. Now it's just a waiting game.

FYI, I got the same Severe Chronic PTSD and that got me 70% I also get IU (Individual Unemployability) that's 30% for a total of 100% listed as TDIU. That pays $3,017.60 a month...........Hell I can't remember what 70% pays, but if you can still work, you can at the 70% mark.....If you take the IU, you can not work, but I am guessing you know that...
Glad thing are looking good for you......

I would be real surprised if I received that rate. Going by the way the law reads, it looks to be more like 30%-50%. A lot of the rating schedule is based on the occupational and social wording. It leaves it very open to the rating officers decision. My paranoia tells me I'd likely get low balled on this first go-round.

You maybe correct, as I don't know how the rating guys work......I was told by an old VA guy that since I was a Nam door gunner I would get 70%, he did not have a thing to do with the C&P or ratings and was right. I just do not understand how you can have the same Severe Chronic, as me and not get the same %......Other than it the VA and they do what they want....

Griz:

I get your point about the unsatisfying nature of the process and result.

I have FECA, not VA, but went for a SECOP (Second Opinion by their doctor). I went with great prior anxiety, but it was quick and painless: Disabling PTSD from federal service in Iraq; no pre-existing conditions. It was afterwards that it hit me: I was just given a gold watch (retirement), but felt like the watch was broken,or re-gifted from the last guy who retired (and died). Not satisfying at all.

I asked about re-employment, somehow believing that I was too important to be paid to go home. He write that I could be reconsidered in 12 months for re-employment, but: a position DEVOID of STRESS, and nor working with PEOPLE. I realized afterwards that this was the Kiss of Death, a polite way of saying "not really." Or, for federal agencies: We don't want PTSD types around our workplace.

I suppose distrust, confusion, despondence and anger all go with...

Hi my fellow comrades......just a thought I have a C&P coming up after the DRO Hearing through out my last C&P..because I was screwed over so obviously. I did file a complaint against the psychologist who throughout 35 years of ptsd diagnosis and labeled me with a personality disorder. Was I stunned when the DRO actually helped me, a vet. She, the DRO said I was unjustly denied correct treatment. I left speechless since this was the absolute first time I have been treated like a human being by the VA. I as well filed charges against the Psychologist who tried to damage me and took him in front of the Board of Licensing and State certification and filed a complaint. They gave him a dose of his own medicine. They are still talking about "that Vet who actually challenged a Psych" Oh well. My question here is would it be advisable to audio record or Videotape record my C & P?
Is it allowed at all? Thanks for any advice and I appreciate any help by Vets, my brothers, my Comrades.

Congrats Grizz, hope it works out for you. This part is the first. If he/she was on your side I hope all follow suite. Could be a walkthrough! I said a prayer and I believe in the collective conscious of people, and of prayer. There are no atheist's in a foxhole.

@Dennis Sutton

You cannot record your C&P exams at all. It is against the law and is stated as so in CFR 38.

At one point on one My C&P exams I couldn't believe what I was hearing and considered hitting record on my phone. Glad I didn't.

Wow, good to hear!
When I went in for my C&P exam, I just literally told the Doc all that was going on in my life.
He asked about relationships etc. Best thing for me was just to be blunt about it.
Good luck to you. Great work setting the standard!
