I want to add something that I learned from my psychology professor in regard to dark thoughts...He talked about them briefly, but it stuck with me. Everyone has those crazy thoughts that pop into your head, whether that be something really gross, or really violent. It's not bad, it's just part of being human. It's totally normal. It's when they become repetitive and intrusive that they can be a problem.
Another thing, the violent thoughts of killing whoever did what to us, I feel are normal...just our instilled morals take that back a notch. It's where we step into Freud land; we are constantly battling our primal urges to abide by our taught moral laws. If we were much less advanced, perhaps still nomadic, it's possible we'd just kill each other for revenge. The urges were acted upon, but not today nearly as often.
I'm not justifying killing people (I think it's awful), but the urge is so understandable. I hope no one feels alienated by their dark side.
In regards to MDMA, there have been studies in very tightly controlled settings. It's been shown to help sufferers of PTSD walk through catharsis without the fight or flight response, and lessen the degree of fear experienced when sober. Not to be tried at home!
PS Thanks for the comments and whatnot about my art. Means a lot. :)
