Dealing With The Death Of A Friend

Last night I got word that one of my best friends died. I used to have epic phone calls with her in which we would talk to each other about all kinds of stuff. I didn't ever tell her the origins of my trauma, but she knew I had PTSD and she was completely accepting of my odd little neuroses. Her death leaves a huge gap in my life. She had cystic fibrosis, and in spite of initially being given a life expectancy of 2 years, made it all the way to 40. I knew that I would lose her at some point, but that doesn't make the pain any less. And of course, the bottomless grief I feel right now is letting in all kinds of triggers.

I'm so sorry. I had a friend once like that. Only knew her two years and it was the worst when she died.

Please be safe, and do all you can to find comfort and comfort yourself. Bless you.
