Decided To Listen To My Doctor

Congratulations! It's such a tough choice to make sometimes. Good luck with it. I'm on Effexor and it's been very helpful for me - no one reacts the same way of course, but I (for one) can speak positively about it.

Best wishes to you. I was finally put on a drug similar to Xanax (can't remember the name at the moment). I've fought hard to keep off of these, but I finally knew I needed it to get through a situation 2 weeks back. It worked and it took a lot of internal muster to even take the pill to start with. I hate drugs... It took a lot for me to admit I needed it. Of course, I was so worked up my blood pressure 2 hours after I had started calming down was 147 over 100... Yeah, I needed it or things were going to get bad medically.

A week and a half into Effexor. I'm still feeling a tad groggier than my usual self, but it's a lot better than a week ago. It is definitely helping me to get to sleep at night, though. And I haven't felt as obsessive or anxious either, though I did have a different routine this week.

The experiment will continue. : )

Just under a month into Effexor and I already feel so much better. I'm sleeping better and am having an easier time letting thoughts just be thoughts and not let them take over my whole existence. Obviously there is no miracle pill that will fix everything, but I feel like I've been handed a key that unlocks the chains that weighed me down for so long.
Very grateful today.
