Hello, I was just wondering if anyone else had noticed this? When I am in crisis (voices, anxiety, panic, fatigue, depression, dissociation, flashbacks etc. etc). My pupils dilate for hours at a time, I look like I have been taking chemicals, I used to think it was a specific medication but I don't take it anymore. Now I am wondering whether it is a physiological symptom - to do with fight, freeze, flight? Over time it makes me feel unwell and effects my vision.

Ringing a bell for anyone?

I think it's normal. I have big pupils always have. Here's an experiment: stare into someone's pupil, and eventually it will dilate.
It may work in the mirror, too, I don't remember. I know it's a sign of interest, do it makes sense that they

Have always had huge pupils. Was stopped by the school nurse when I was a kid, questioned if I was on drugs. Nope (not yet, at least). Large pupils on a good day. Under stress I can't tolerate much light at all.

When my man was in a rage or highly agitated state his pupils would become dilated & stay that way for a few days. I once pointed it out to him & he said his eyes were naturally that way. But over the years I have noticed when he is not agitated, angry, annoyed, in a rage state, his pupils go back to a more normal state. It is odd & I often wonder why that happens. Is there a name for this?.
