I have for grinded 'em for like 10 yrs to my knowledge...i use those rubber/plastic mouthguards every night..and even sometimes during the day when I"m home alone

Yes and it has caused me to lose one tooth and be in a lot of pain most of the time from it. I have to puree most of the food I eat or eat only soft foods as I can. It has been very upsetting. I found that my antidepressant caused it and this is a common side effect with many medications. I would actually snap my teeth together involuntarily in my sleep. I weaned myself off the antidepressant. That really irritated my psychiatrist at the time. But, I had been fired from my job for being a whistleblower and really needed something for the PTSD and anxiety more than an antidepressant. She didn't seem to recognize my symptoms very well. I no longer see her.

I've seen several dentists. I believe I need a mouth guard. My dentist is worried I will just bite through it. But I believe that I should get one anyway and if I have to save up and buy one per year, that is better than losing my teeth and being in such pain. Has anyone else had success with the fitted dental guards made by your dentist? I trust him and he knows I don't have money. But, I have a friend who is saving up to help me try a dental guard. I would be grateful to hear anything anyone has to say about how they stopped ruining their teeth and if the dental guard worked. Thank you.

I'm a "Chomper" &"Grinder" much to the dismay of my dentist and girlfriend. I've tried mouth guards but i always struggle to get to sleep while wearing them. Must be all this pent up tension!!
