Poll Do You Sleep With A Gun Under Your Pillow?

Not under my pillow, but close. And I am always carrying a gun in my pocket when I leave the house. There is always a gun in my car and plenty of ammunition.

I do not sleep with a gun, though I might had I access to one. Currently I keep a screwdriver close at hand while I sleep. Not much of a weapon, but it makes me feel more comfortable. Okay, maybe it doesn't. But I keep telling myself it does.

No...I hate guns...BUT...I do have the tennis rackett within reach.

This question scares me just looking at it. I don't own a gun or know anyone who does. The fact that my roommate leaves a knife on the kitchen counter scares me. Weapons are far more likely to be used against you (if you are female anyways), so having them in the house makes me feel less safe.

When I'm being triggered or harassed at work or stalked...I keep a knife by the bed.

It scares me though, because then I want to use it on myself.

No but because both myself (carer) and my husband (sufferer) are police officers, I at sometimes would have my service firearm stored at my home (just because of the type of job I do) But recently my husband had a SEVER down day, and expressed Suicidal thoughts to me...I will not keep my firearm at home any more.

I think we are both safer now.

I don't sleep with a gun... but for years slept with a crowbar beside my bed... and the telephone also at my bedside.... My prayer beads were under my pillow, in my pocket... my girls and I have just started sleeping without the lights on...

Nah, we don't like guns in Canada. The only thing on my nightstand is my clock radio, a lamp, and some nice smelling diffuser thingy from Pier I.

I voted 'No' because I don't now, but I used to. Yep, right under the pillow. Later, it migrated to the nightstand drawer. Now it's in the closet, hidden, but easy for me to get my hands on it if need be.

I used to take it traveling, too, but now I take a baseball bat in my luggage and prop it right by the bed in the hotel room.

I don't like knives because I'm not trained in using them and I know they very easily can be turned around in a struggle. Plus, I don't want to get that close to an intruder!

I dont sleep with a gun... soemtimes - if I hear noises around the house - i wish i had a baseball bat or something, but then again i try not to get too paranoid :-S
And I dont like guns anyways, plus dont want any gun accident to happy with my little boy (he is 7)

In my country we aren't allowed guns without special permits, but I did used to sleep with a bat next to my bed, also a switchblade for a long time. I voted no though as I don't do it anymore.

I used to sleep with a hammer so I could use it if I had an intruder. I had an intruder and I couldn't bring myself to use it... that ended badly for me. I'd rather be dead than in gaol for killing someone else. I did fight, but I realised too late that a hammer was too much force. If I had thought it through better, I would have something softer... the many phones in my house each failed me as well... or in the case of phones that worked, the people at the other end failed me - BIG TIME, including the police!
