I have a hard time sleeping with alot of covers. I feel like I am suffocating. I have been like that since a child. I had to have one leg out of the covers or I couldn't catch my breath. It makes it hard in the winter because I am freezing, but if I put the blankets on I have a panic attack and get very hot. It isn't easy.

No I get where your coming from it's almost like your getting ready to run incase anything should happen. I would rather be cold than feel like I was trapped

Yes, absolutely!! I also need to sleep in my sleeping bag - cocooned. The more weight the better. Once I even bought a chain mail shirt just to have the weight. For me I believe it´s connected to the sensory processing disorder as well as a strong need to feel safe. I wish so much that I could afford a "heavy quilt." There are several companies that make them for kids and adults with sensory issues. The best companies have a lot of experience and know how to make the quilts as heavy as possible without being too hot for summer. For now I just pile on blankets, keep the room temperature cool, and have to wash my pajamas a lot because they inevitably get sweaty.

I didn't even think anyone else did this until I read this poll but yes I sleep snuggled under a duvet no matter what the weather,I am practically completely under it, although when the fiancé is away I have two duvets and two blankets that I hide under and surround my head with pillows, I thought it was just me but I guess it's more 'normal' than i thought to not want any part of your body showing as its deemed as vulnerable

No for me, but yes, for my wife. . .which often leads to an interesting arrangement of blankets by morning time.

For me, it is more of needing a wall (or other vertical surface like the back of the couch) next to me when I sleep. Gives me an extra sense of protection.

Preferably I sleep nude with nothing on top of me. But it all depends on the weather as I sleep outside in a truck. I only use what is necessary to stay warm.

Yes! But mainly because my sisters used to torment me when I was little with vampire movies. So my theory was that if the covers were over my neck, I couldn't be bitten. I've slept this way every since - no matter how hot it is outside :-)

I sleep on a blanket and have a down comforter and a heavy cover. I like to be warm. In the summer we get rid of the down comforter but we hang onto the heavy cover. Interesting topic..

Yes, for some reason I need to feel the weight of covers. Luckily my body temperature drops drastically when I fall asleep so even if it's very hot I can usually have a light duvet. In winter I have at least three duvets, sometimes blankets as well. If I get too hot I try putting my feet outside the covers for a bit to see if that will cool me down (like a dog sticking it's tongue out, lol). I'm always reluctant to take one of the covers off.

I need the warmth because of getting so cold but the weight is important too - someone once described it as: If Hashi can move, she hasn't got enough covers.

I sleep with more covers than other people, I do seem to get cold more easily.

But when it's hot - no matter how hot - I at least have to have a sheet. I just have to be covered up or I have naked at school nightmares :roflmao:
