I used to have a moose named Mutchky, but the dogs wanted him so I tucked him into the cedar chest and now I snuggle with the dogs and cat!

I have a stuffed monkey name Brandino. I've had him almost four years. When I first got him I took him everywhere with me. Having to go to treatment so many times I wasn't allowed to take him with me so now I just sleep with my monkey. I kind of have time set aside every day to have comforting moment with him. Sometimes when you don't have family to support you a hug from an animal or a teddy bear equals it all out for the moment.

Yes! I never slept with any stuffed animals as a child (not allowed to) but for the last year since developing PTSD I have slept with a stuffed dog. It made me feel safe and comfortable just to hold it at night. A couple weeks ago I adopted a little dog about the same size. Now she sleeps with me. She curls up by my chest and stays there all night. I feel safe knowing she will growl or bark if anyone comes in that should not be there. Even during the day she stays by my side no matter what room I go to.

After my attack in my teens I started sleeping with my stuffed turtle. I stopped after a couple years.

I've noticed, though, in the last month and a half, exactly when my anxiety got worse, I've started hugging one of my softer pillows. When I have to change sides, I take it with me, even in the middle of the night. It's given me great comfort.
I also have a dog that sleeps with me, and when she leans up against me I feel secure.

I have three Hello Kitty dolls from Build-a-Bear and increasingly i'm needing to have one near during trying times. I sleep with her too for months then months without. the one I love most is Suntan Hello Kitty lol and she's been well loved up and is sleeping with me again every night.

Nothing wrong with it. I do my own embarrassing and childish things that I wouldn't admit to on this forum. I'm sure everyone has something.
But when I was a kid I had open heart surgery, I was 3 years old. My parent gave me a white stuffed bear after I got out of surgery, his name was Snowey. :D I used to sleep with Snowey every night up until I was about 9. At that point my father decided I was too old for it and threw it out while we relocated from NY to Florida. To this day, for whatever reason, it gets me emotional. lol

for me it's kind of a yes and no type thing... When I go to sleep I notice that when I snuggle with my pillow and hold my blanket close covering me up to my shoulders I feel safe I guess is the right word. When I'm at work or just about anywhere I have a stress ball that I got from the wounded warrior project that I love because it's not like the vast majority of stress balls that are so tough its hard to squeeze them I play with it in my hands or squeeze and release then squeeze and release. I guess for me my pillow and blanket are my comfort objects at night and my stress ball is my comfort object durring the day. The tough part is my one year old loves balls but I keep this one as mine. I call it daddy's special ball when he sees me with it and wants it.
