Do you want to redecorate your t’s office?

I have a funny feeling the couch is different to the one that was there originally. But other than I don’t notice. I know the room is a lot larger when I leave than when I arrive most of the time but I suspect that’s just me lol

My first, and favorite T on this journey, had a comfortable enough office... I do remember saying something to her once about why was her chair higher than mine.. I felt she was 'looking down' on me.. the next time I went there was a different chair,,, I was so surprised that at that time in my life, anyone even heard anything I said, much less would accommodate me..

The thing that drove me crazy , up in the corner, across from the chair her clients sat in... up close to the ceiling, was a painted red dot.. when I would get uncomfortable or anxious and my eyes started darting thru the room, I always ended up looking at that stupid red dot... then I would look away and back and forth and back and forth... I wonder why I never asked her about that damned red dot...????

There were no 'smells or odors' in there, but could not tell you anything about the chair I sat in, but I do remember it was comfortable.
Thanks for starting this thread... interesting answers... The T's that take the time,or have their own office, to decorate along the lines of their personality was always my favorite...

I wonder why that damned red dot was there??? Haven't thought of that in over thirty years...now I'm going to obsess :wideeyed::wideeyed::wideeyed::wideeyed:

My T has her own practice so her room is her own. It has windows, second story looking out over woods, is painted in muted colors with small bookshelves, a desk, white Christmas lights and a lamp, an essential oil diffuser that’s usually running, a futon I sit on with big throw pillows, a coffee table between us, and she sits on a desk chair type of seat. She has all kinds of fidgety things on the table between us, and it has a lower ledge that my feet rest on, otherwise they would dangle off the edge of the futon, and I would hate that. She had a huge clock sort of behind me but i can see it if I turn a little. She said when she was setting up her office she sat where the clients would sit often, to get a feel for where they could look and how it would be most comfortable. I love the white lights. She needs shades though. In the summer months at my session time I’m blinded by the sun coming in a side window. It’s our second year in this office and if she doesn’t get some, I’ll be buying her some.

My original t when I lived in NH had a great space. He and two women shared the waiting room where they had soda in a fridge and hot water for tea. The magazines were up to date and just a few. His office was visually engaging. It was spotless and he had interesting art work and his bookshelf. The couch was black leather. They had the offices painted and new carpet put in one school vacation week. He gave me lots of notice that his office was going to be bigger. Still, when I entered I got super anxious by the new layout. One of the t’s has chemical sensitivity and she had her dog with her. So no smells ever.
