I'm sure most doctors, especially one's that don't see us regularly, just see us as human beings rather than people.
Have you got a short phrase you can learn to make doctors pause before they do stuff?
I just wasn’t prepared to have to be prepared for this! A more complicated consultation or a more invasive examination/procedure and I would have been prepped to the hilt! But this was a quick visit to the GP for a bit of dizziness and nausea...I suspected I’d have blood pressure checks, get sent for blood tests and what not. Didn’t expect it to turn into something I’d have such a reaction to. So didn’t expect to have to prep for something getting difficult.Practice that or ask your T to help you work out what it should be.
In the moment, I just freeze, dissociate a bit, and comply. So, even if I have some words prepped, when the moment comes and I suddenly really need them, they are nowhere. Frustrating!
