Domestic Violence And War - Is There A Link?

Some time ago I watched a documentary about how the number of cases and the severity of domestic violence increases drastically after war times. The documentary focused violence in the US and on US wars beginning with the civil war. I just had never considered the connection before viewing this show (I don't remember the name of the documentary).

Since I can't reference to the specific show that I watched, I tried to find some good internet links -- I didn't quite find what I was looking for, but I did find a couple of links that have some related information:

This is from my own experience - PTSD can be passed on from one person to the next through violence & abuse. I'm afraid to think of the inevitable aftermath of this ongoing war in the next decade or more. Makes me scared & sad at the same time.

To me, it means that it's completely unacceptable to cheap out on Veteran's benefits and support for both the member of the forces and their families. That all red tape is removed so the returning member and their families have direct and immediate access to support.
