Prince Edward Island is even smaller!

Actually, Canada has some quite or very remote, populated areas. It comes down to work, housing cost, climate you can tolerate, & of course immigration concerns. By-&-large, higher or sometimes comparable prices on fuel, food; housing varies widely, but public health care atm, but 2-tier system of service delivery in place in some provinces, being introduced as we speak. Word out here from HR is we have one year before some privatization coming in to play.

Most I know from Nova Scotia left, mostly to find work. Very small. Worst about the cost frequently getting pummeled by disastrous weather, the seabord gets hurricanes/ tropical storms, Atlantic Ocean very different from Pacific. I would say 75%/ 25% negative/ positive feedback on staying there from people ie 75% leave/ 25% love it.

I think however.. very different with ptsd. What are 'we' looking for? Where/ how & with what do 'we' find peace?

I could handle a colder climate if it was on the coast. Inland? Eh. Maybe the west coast but it's expensive out there.

CB is having a population decline it seems. I come from the middle of nowhere so I'm not looking for a big populated city anyway.

Maybe I'll go visit.

Some places in Canada are hidden gems. In many places stunning scenery. Much is based on feasability of living there in relation to cost.

Many people are also moving out to smaller towns due to lower taxes (because of reduced services).

Much of Canada consists of large, focal point cities with 'urban sprawl'; interspersed with towns and land between the towns.

The east coast has Newfoundland/ Labrador , Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, P.E.I. Without a doubt hands down Newfoundland has the best rep for gorgeous scenery, least pretentious people, hard working. Much of the work, of course, is based on the fishing industry etc. but they are often hit the hardest economically. Years ago, even in places like Peggy's Cove people sometimes literally abandoned homes to head west for work. It was criminal what they suffered.

I'll start practicing my Canadian dialect so I won't be identified as an American lol
Given what your fleeing from, you could be whistling dixie while you go through customs, I don't think anyone would mind.

We're reasonably polite. :) Just say 'eh', watch a little hockey (or a lot), eat bacon, and pretty much anywhere you live bring mitts or gloves.
