I absolutely agree with you AG!
My husband and I went to a "counselor" for awhile. He gave us the "impression" that he was far more skilled than he was. I wound up running out of the last session because both my husband and "counselor" were literally laughing at my hurt feelings. I never went back to him.
Now, I see a "board certified" psychiatrist. More money, but at least I know he is trained to help me. A lot of people won't continue looking for help. They will just stop. They will try "self help" books (like Dr. Laura's), and wind up in a much worse state of mind.
Dr. Laura should be challenged by a psychiatrist. But, they wouldn't waste their valuable time on such a quack. Very unfortunately, people DO listen to her, and read her books!
I'm with you Jet-don't criticize me unless you have walked in my shoes!!!
