I just started my second one(first one was back in high school) and I find already it is helpful. The vivid dreams can drive me crazy sometimes, but it's nice to see what you get out on paper. Does anyone else have one? If so, do you find you get some clarity from your dream journal?

Best,
Jasmine

I don't journal them exactly, but if I have some dreams that bother me, or seem especially meaningful, I'll email them to my therapist. He loves reading about my dreams.....and I must admit, my dreams could be some killer screenplays!

Dont have a journal, but due to nightmares all to vivid dreams ad such when younger I wrote them down to remember later to anayze them. It brought a lot of clarity and was highly useful. Now I dont dream so much anymore and sad i a way since I belive dreams are messages that can aid us to solve our life issues.

Example of a clear dream goes like this: I was walking on some very rugged and rough beach coast line. Very dark and very gloomy. I went out on a promontory and it was so dicicult to walk there that It made me scared. The sea and waves roaring alongside while I walk.
At the end I could see the other side. And wow - I saw beautiful tranquil beach, calm ocean and pure bliss.

Meaning: my life was very rugged and raw that time. Ocean or water is feelings. So I was trying in real life to walk to some place peaceful. Something that could bring me bliss and calm.

I used to do a dream journal, this helped me to not only better recall my dreams but to actually be able to start to control my dreams. The more we are aware of what we are dreaming, the more we are connected and aware

(ie: if the dream is getting too stressful, I can usually wake up. unless it is a night terror. If I wake up in the middle of a dream, and it is really good, I often times am able to fall back asleep and continue it)

I think you will find it an extreme help to you, just make sure you keep it right next to your bed so you can write in it as soon as you wake up.
