Help Us Understand the Link Between Sensory Sensitivity and Nightmares in PTSD

We are conducting a research study at Cardiff University exploring why nightmares are so common in those who experience post-traumatic stress. Nightmares are often one of the most distressing symptoms of PTSD, and we want to better understand what makes some people more prone to them.

Who can take part?

We’re looking for individuals who experience a range of PTSD symptoms and/or experience frequent nightmares. You do not need a formal PTSD diagnosis to participate. If you consider yourself a sensitive person or have intense emotional or sensory experiences, your input is especially valuable.

What does participation involve?

Participation involves completing a short set of online questionnaires (about 15 minutes) about your sensory experiences, PTSD symptoms, and dreaming. All responses are completely anonymous.

Why is this important?

Your contribution will help us better understand the individual traits that contribute to nightmares in PTSD, with the aim of improving support, treatment, and recognition of these experiences.

If you’re interested in taking part or want to learn more, feel free to contact the researchers on the study team:
