Yes. I tried not to take them too often, because of their addictive properties.

Yea my p-doc had me on small dose, and then when trazadone stopped working for sleep increased it from .25 or .5 to another 1 mg at night. Helped a lot small dose. But when increased - what a mistake. But I'm new to these medicines past year. People should be warned before given these medicines.

I even asked if Klonopin was less addictive than Xanax. Told it wasn't as addictive and not to worry. Otherwise I would have never taken daily as I was told to.

I know. Stupid doctors have just thrown tons of pills at me. many had serious interactions with each other.

Totally agree. I also have a low dose of xanax to take as needed. And I've had the same bottle for 2 months. But just knowing that I have them makes me feel better. Because I know they will help if I need one.

Well I wish I didn't have an addictive personality because I have to count my Xanax daily to make sure I'm not using more than prescribed. I did overuse and had to go without them for four days and it was awful, just awful. Lesson learned, plus my shrink made it crystal clear if I overused again he will discharge me from his practice. I wish I could be someone that can leave a bottle around just in case.

To be honest...I wish I could just leave the alcohol bottle around...but I've self-medicated for many years. Probably why these medicines scare me. But less side-effects than these benzos.

Dont feel bad. It's so easy to overuse them. They help me feel somewhat normal right now. So some days I wish I could take them constantly!

It seems odd that I am on buspar for short term anxiety and then I take lorazapam for short term anxiety...seems a little reduntant. I am going to see if I can get off buspar as I have to take it three times a day and it's a pain in the butt!

Have you tried taking the Buspar less than 3 times a day (same dosage, but combined into two doses, maybe)? Buspar is a pretty mild anxiety drug, no addiction potential, but it's used more for longer standing anxiety (GAD, Social Phobia, PTSD). It won't rescue you from an anxiety provoking situation like the Lorazepam will, but will give you more of a buffer to not get as anxious in the first place (if it's working). Lorazepam works quickly, but it has addictive properties, and you may soon need a larger dose to get the same effect. Two different medications, two different reasons, if that helps you at all.
