I have often wondered if the thousands of radio, cell phone, television, and other types of broadcast signals that are in the air can interfere, impair, or even damage brain function. They are all supposed to be on a different frequency than the electrical impulses of the human brain, but all those signals going through our skulls 24/7 can't be good for us. I'll bet, before radio waves, there weren't near as many mental illnesses. I would love to teleport back in time, long before there were these signals in the air, just to see how I felt..

@Whispering_Truth Power went out where I live a week ago for a few hours. Amazing how quiet and calm it was. I turn off all the wifi I can when not in use. I did not need to turn on anything to know power had been restored. Tension and a dis-ease coursing through me, on top of the PTSD. It helped to be away for just for those few hours.

This article raised a question for me. The changes to the brain from trauma, and just life in the first world impacts on mental health. This forum is mainly 1st world (english speaking) participants. How does the trauma of mass war, genocide and rape impact survivors in the 3rd world? Do survivors in 3rd world have PTSD?

Limited bandwidth to do research, but curious to know of studies and statistics for 3rd world PTSD, and 2nd world.

Do survivors in 3rd world have PTSD?

Yep, or similar symptomatology that wouldn't be classifiable as PTSD directly under those criteria but is equal in impact on lives and health - I'm pretty sure Anthony linked studies looking into this prior, I'll check where the threads went.
