It seems like I only post on here when my vet is having a rough patch and not doing so well. Recently I was lonely during a period when he was withdrawing. I knew enough to give him his space this time, and after about 2 days he came back around. This went a lot smoother since I knew not to have hurt feelings about it, and he knew I wasn't upset at him for needing time to himself. It made me realize that he really is a great guy, and he is dealing with all his injuries, visible and invisible, in a positive way.
The PTSD makes them not the best company at times, but our partners are still good people. It gives me hope to see how long a lot of the supporters on here have been together happily (for the most part) with their significant others. It's not easy, but people make it work.
Maybe I'm just feeling warm and fuzzy lately, but I'd like to ask the supporters what makes their partners wonderful.
To start, my vet has an awesome sense of humor, and is an old-school gentleman.
