We have extreme weather conditions in three states today in Australia. It is so hot here at the moment.

It's not too bad in Melbourne, but I'm a bit concerned about NSW at the moment.

I hope the conviction for the guy whose unattended campfire started a bushfire in Tassie is a harsh one.

The temperature has dropped quite a bit here late in the day and will be cool tomorrow too, but the winds have been right up there. It's not looking that great in NSW but thankfully it wasn't as bad as thought it may be. Reminds us that we all have to be vigilant - no matter where we are in Australia right now - particularly the SE!

Yes Bilby you have! But also given us a sweet reason to laugh at ourselves, as I also thought that you kept or cared for Bilby's.

I am over in WA and we have had 2 weeks of 40+ heat, which has been really draining. No fires for us and I hope that it stays that way - we can't have the entire country going up in smoke!

I hope that you and your family and community stay safe and this bushfire seasons passes us by soon.

Still very mild for January here in the UK, but they have said the temperature will drop by the end of the week.

This could mean hard frosts at night and icy conditions through the day. Possibly with snow following.

WOW! Hearing about the weather in news stories in the States. Is air conditioning in most homes there? I'm thinking that someone I know in NSW does not have it and I can't imagine being in that heat without it.

I am in Korea, where it is the coldest winter that most people can remember. It dips to -19C....bit of a shock for me...
