Family time

Never heard of otrio—is it a quick game? I’m always looking for fast paced logic games for my math classroom.

Also great thread! Will be traveling with family this month and looking for activities—games and rock painting sound great! Was also thinking of air dry clay or plaster of Paris.

Like to go on walks with my family.

We don’t really do family time?

We DO do the whole koselig & hygge thing (koselig is making time spent warm/perfect/delightful/oomphy… like hot chocolate & pajamas when driving around looking at Christmas lights; or a “tent” and fairy lights when watching a movie, or picnics with baskets, blanket, & bubbles; or bearskin rugs & fireplace & hot springs -or jacuzzi- in the snow… whatever the event, making it special? Traditions? Rituals? Koselig is the root of “Cozy”, but cozy doesn’t directly translate. Sparkly, special, memorable even if normal?)

Hygge, is more individualized. Making something special/connective to an individual, rather than to the event. Often for one’s self? Like a hot shower & cold beer, or bubble bath and candles and glass of wine. Personalized hedonism. But also created by one person for another. Making something everyday extraordinary. Even if normal.

Koselig is whenever it’s friends/family.
Hygge is whenever it’s one’s self, or for one another.

Both are about oomph’ing up the average.

we take turns doing tricks with the dogs

For example: ruger has various commands we practice often like ‘whisper’ and ‘we need to talk’ (sit and give paw and I esplain something to him 😅)

Emma is a ‘roll over’ superstar sometimes if you just say lay down she’s done a whole flip already lol

We’ve been taking long walks w ruger and I hope to continue.
