I'm practicing reframing and it has become my go-to emotional regulation practice. It takes me a few days to fully calm down and reflect on moments I get triggered. But i feel like reframing makes the process smoother. It has been helping me move past the dramatics of my emotions. I'm the kind of person that can handle really traumatic/big problems with calmness and patience but I have a habit lose my shit over little things. It's pretty cool to see results like that, I've been way less anxious recently and I think that's why. I would like to hear about others experiences with this technique or other practices that y'all may have found helpful.;blank;

I love reframing! It helps to reduce the panic and stress.

I also love, when I'm stuck in a thought, thinking that there are always options. Opening up possiblity to other options helps a lot.

Basically, techniques that help me think of bigger pictures and holding things differently, help to digest, process and move on.

I really like how you phrased "holding things differently" that's so key. Definitely trying to work on that skill of like freeing yourself from some unnecessary burdens.

i'm another fan of reframing. i've been practicing it since the 80's and it seems to get easier with practice. i tend toward delusional denial and rely heavily on my therapy support network to help me watch guard those tendencies, but more and more i buy the premise that if you want to change the world, change the way you look at it.

but radical acceptance and mindfulness are my most used therapy tools. so what if i am a few fries short of a happy meal. i've worked with less. a harsh fact is far easier to work with than a gift wrapped elephant turd from the proverbial elephant in the room.
