Police officers in this country kill black men and boys just about every day. Black citizens are locked up at a rate higher than our antebellum slave period.

In my opinion, if a black person wants to go set things on fire, I will sigh sadly and nod. I am not going to tell them that their rage needs to be stifled so white people can continue to feel fine.

Yes, I did make up the statistics. I watched tens of thousands of (uncounted) people. I saw less than 30 people commit acts of vandalism. I wasn't everywhere. I didn't see everything. I'm not at every protest around the world.

I think if the people who are being stepped on and killed by the government want to fight back I will never tell them that they should shut up and keep taking it. Nope.

There are so many things that I have been a part of, that have been misrepresented or spun by media, activists, politics for their own personal gain... That I wash my hands of most things. Unless I'm actually there, moreover willing to be boots on the ground / working and doing things of value in a situation, it's not that I don't give a f*ck... but that I simply don't trust that I know anything of relevance. I know what powerful and loud people want me to know from a distance.

I can tell you I'm not overly worried about Cops, nor racism Stateside. They're both well known and well addressed issues. As evidenced by the fact that both are covered in the media & judiciary near constantly, and have been for decades. Not a bad thing.

The things I worry about in this country, are the things that are not addressed in the media & courts... Because they're so common as to be normal / expected / the way things are. To pick topics near and dear to this forum? 2%-3% of rapists are convicted (Rainn stats). In my city alone, over a dozen children have been murdered this year alone by abusive parents given half custody (after being proven abusive in court, the courts still award custody), as well as at least one (possibly two) social workers... In all cases with the nonabusive parent screaming from the mountains that their children are in danger, screaming for help. Convicted pedophiles are paid state registered foster parents to dozens of children (hundreds over the years)... These are some of my ex-inlaws. "2parent homes!" Being the rally cry of churches and courts for a decade has seen the end result being the deaths and rapes of hundreds of children in my region alone.

One man shoots one man, black & white, cop & criminal? That gets media attention. Protesters. Ticker tape parades. Reactionary legislation that will cause more harm than good. The whole circus.

So I ain't worried.
