Fibro Fibromyalgia

Thanks, @She Cat. I just emailed him to cancel. I don't want to mess with anything as long as I have this sprain in my side. I have no idea what I did to it. I have a feeling I may just have twisted wrong during the night. That's how it feels, anyway.

Anyway, there is one other chiropractor in town. I'll just give it some more thought for now and wait for this thing to heal.

Many years before I was ever diagnosed with fibro, I threw my back out shooting pool one night and couldn't stand, sit, lay, or exist comfortably at all. Went to a typical chiro that was highly recommended and was freaked out when he started climbing on the table with me, from behind, to adjust me. My first response was oh hell to the no. lol The whole up against the wall adjustment messed with my head, too. I never really got comfortable with the motions, but it helped get me back upright and pain free more than once.

My old chiro was also the first person to plant the seeds of cleaner consumption and pointed out how we so often treat individuals without paying any mind to the overall environment creating the issues being treated. I wasn't able to take that info and successfully work with it during those days, but glad he planted the seeds, nonetheless. He's since moved out of state.

Later on, I simply couldn't afford to go anymore. In the last year and half, I've been seeing a chiro that practices the Gonstead technique and isn't the typical pop and crack variety. She also barters, making it possible for me to go. It's much gentler yet every bit as effective and helps keep the kinks out. I used to go monthly, but now it's every other month or so, or when I clearly have made a wrong move and have pain as a result.

She's another incredibly helpful tool in my therapeutic tool box. I met the folks who barter through connecting at a local drum circle, a local farm to table cafe and market, and through various healing oriented community workshops. It isn't like I picked up the phone calling around to see who's willing to barter. But that would be a damn nice option to have everywhere. Hope you get some relief soon.

So, I was diagnosed with this yesterday. I had been suspecting it for a few weeks but didn't really know. A...
I'm sorry, @hodge. I have this combo, also. It sucks but in a way it's good to have the diagnosis. I recently asked my doctor for a prescription for physical therapy, which I hope will be stretching and gentle movement - I haven't been yet, so we shall see. It's hard to gauge on my own - exercising without overdoing it.

I am sorry. It's a rotten combo of illnesses, PTSD and fibromyalgia - and neither one is understood very well by the general public. Heck neither one is understood very well by the "professionals" either. Isn't that a cheering thought??
Best thoughts to you, hodge.
