I know the OP was in mid Dec, but will add my 2 copper to the thread.
SSRI's, my experience with them: Any time I start an SSRI if I'm not currently on them, it throws me into a deep depression for the first 72 hours or so. I mean much much worse than before I started them when I was very depressed to start with. After about the 3rd day I start to normalize, then a few days later, the benifits of the med start to kick in. One side effect I HATE is that my sex drive and ability are almost totaly killed. I can still get horny as hell, but unable to do anything effective about it. After about 3 months or so, the medicine loses all effectiveness, and it's as if I'me not on any meds. Either the med has to be increased or changed. Overall, I have a dim view of SSRI's, but I know other people who swear by them. As others have said, different meds work differently on each and every person.
