Poor puppy. I'm so glad you took her in. I say that about my pup too, that she saved me. I couldn't imagine not living with my pets. Keep us updated. She's beautiful.

My 2 dogs, who are 10 and 11, wanted me to tell you that "10 is the new 4". Around here, we are careful with "the O word". Everyone is referred to as "older". I'll bet, once her diet starts to work, she'll be hopping up on your bed all by herself. Congratulations on your new friend!

@scout86, Haha. Chelsea says that's right 10 is the new 4. The vet said she needs to lose 30lbs to be considered a healthy weight for her age and bone structure. So she is on a very special weight loss diet. It's a new formula through Science Diet that is guaranteed to help with weight loss in 60 days if you follow it properly. Which means nothing but this food, no treats or extra calories in any form. Not a starvation diet, but as she loses weight the amount of food gets gradually decreased. It's expensive, but vet bills because she is sick or injured from being obese is more expensive. So it is worth it to get her to a healthy, happy weight where she can get some more good pain-free years.

Love my girl to death already. So very happy my T said yes she can come. Honestly, having Chelsea is pulling my mind away from the crap that has happened recently. I'm not sitting thinking about it the entire day and through the night. I have something to focus on, something to help "fix", and it turn it is helping me because my mind is getting a break from the constant depression and suicidal thoughts.

I've been so tempted to get a new kitten for the same reasons. BUT I think my boys would be so jealous and might be tempted to eat it! They were furious when I bought a stuffed kitten for a little girl for Christmas. So I don't think I'll be getting a new kitten after all.

@mytai, no they are two black cats, brothers whom I rescued from an animal sanctuary. I have fought tooth and nail to get them well. They came with an awful autoimmune disease which meant they often bleed from the bowels unless I keep them on very expensive sensitive food. They are my babies really, but fighting for them (they are now the picture of health and bossy with it) really does give me a focus outside of myself when I'm so isolated otherwise. And they give me something to laugh at and talk to. I'm sure your Chelsea will be the same for you.

@Echo, Tai was raised around dogs so he is used to them. Initially he hissed at Chelsea and whacked her a few times, but she was only sniffing him. He released that she wasn't going to chase him, she was just curious and they both ended up sleeping on the bed with me last night.

Aww! It sounds like its going to work out perfectly. I hope there's still room for you in the bed. At times I get pinned down by a cat on either side of me or in a twisted position so that bossy boots cat can have all the bed.

@Echo, I have just learned to apologize as I roll over now. It's automatic. Someone is always going to be unhappy with me if I shift positions in the middle of the night.
