Fire!

My microwave caught on fire today. I was in a fire when I was 6. I also was tortured with fire growing up sometimes. Fire and burns.
After the firemen left and things cleared out for me to take a breath, i sat down unaware my t.v. was still on. An update on an old friend of mine came on the news. She was very likely murdered and has been missing since two Thanksgiving's ago. . .
 
I am somewhere between a strong dissacosiation and when I try to come to myself tears swell and I revert back. My Therapist is on vacation. She told me I could contact her if I needed to. Also my former T said I can contact her during an emergency if I have no one else to contact. I don't know what this is considered...My friend's in close distance won't answer my calls or texts. I don't know if I should do something or cut, or disappear or freeze....I am in a fog.
 
@trying2movefwd , if you can, try to stay away from the cutting and the less helpful "comforting" behaviors. Do you like to watch TV or listen to music or read? THose might be comforting and keep your mind away from falling too far out of it. Also, if your therapists told you that you could contact them, I would do it. Took me awhile to do that, but eventually I did and it has helped in times. Sometimes it might just help to write your current T and tell her what's going on and how you're feeling (like your last sentence above) and then try to do something grounding or comforting. Yes.

This is an emergency, as in you don't know what to do, and the only things you can think of to do is to hurt yourself & worse.

1. Call your therapist.
2. If they don't answer, call your old therapist.
