Hello everyone, here’s some mid-week odds and ends.

Been trying to get a good picture of this Butterfly a while. Finally got what I wanted. Landlords garden.

Full size Sharp-Shinned hawk; Accipiter Striatus. Often confused with Coopers hawk. Wikipedia: “These birds surprise and capture all their prey from cover or while flying quickly through dense vegetation. They are adept at navigating dense thickets.”

James, I just spent time going through this entire thread. I'm sorry I didn't before...we're supposed to be friends and I didn't take the time to, that makes me feel like shit.

All your pics are so awesome. I especially love the one of the butterfly. Did I tell you a couple/few weeks ago I was having such a shitty day at work and I went on break. I sat outside on a bench by myself to smoke a cig. This butterfly flew up, landed on my leg and stayed there the whole 15 minutes I was out there. When it was time for me to go in, it flew away. It made the rest of my day so much better. Your pic. made me think of that.

I'm glad you enjoy doing what you do. And I'm glad you have shared it. Thanks.

Thanks so much everyone. Glad you liked the Hummingbird pictures. I sense better Hummingbird photo days ahead. Jadebear that is a really neat story about the Hummingbird. It may have sensed you are a brave soul on a journey. And wanted to be near you. In any event, that is a wonderful sign.

Thanks James, just got caught up after not looking on here for a while. It's sort of like knowing you have a treat stashed away for when you can take the time to enjoy it. The anticipation is a good thing and then to get on and see everything...ahhhhhh.

My friend the Verdin. Nest visible lower right. At 4.5“ in length, Verdin is one of the smallest non-hovering birds in North America.
