James,

I was so excited when I signed in and saw there were new pictures. I was not disappointed! I know almost nothing about desert life and so I find them absolutely fascinating! One day I will get to that region of the US. Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful photos and providing a moment of peace!

Sammy

You are so very welcome Sammy. Glad you like them, thanks so much for the nice comments.

We have two nesting Golden eagles nearby, and yesterday I saw some mid-air drama. An eagle being harassed by another large bird, not sure what kind. Anyway, the eagle took off, thought it flew behind the ridge of a large hill. But then saw it perched on the ridge itself. The thing was a long ways away, and with the zoom I was barely able to get pictures. They aren't very good, but might try to edit them and post later. Thanks again Sammy, trying to keep the quality and variety as high as I can; with winter coming am excited about better landscape and wildlife sightings.

Well, I know I am not the only one to enjoy them! I have seen many places in the world but have never been to a desert region. I had no idea how beautiful it could be! Your photos help remind me to take the time to look beyond the obvious - there just might be a gem. I think it is the same with people. If we look beyond our first impressions, the conclusions we jump to, I think there is a gem in everyone. At least I want to believe there is. You certainly find them with your photography!

Perhaps I need to get my camera out again... photography helps me look at the world more carefully. There is much beauty to be found in the every day.

Here's an assortment of previously un-posted images from the last month of so.

Loggerhead Shrike. Endangered in Canada, and diminishing continent wide. Sure hope I see more of this very neat bird.
